The Pink House in the Rainforest

The cottage is located next door to the main house and the floor is about 8 feet above sea level. It was completed in 2016 and makes for a great vacation rental. The cottage has an area of 260 sqft (13' x 20') with a front porch facing the beach for the guests to enjoy amazing views and breezes. There is a fantastic outdoor shower that is in the back of the cabin facing the breathtaking green jungle. A small kitchen has granite countertops, a 4-burner gas stove and oven, a stainless-steel sink and an under counter refrigerator. Salt treated pine was used for framing and siding. Varnished Nispero rafters support corrugated fiberglass roof panels. The flooring is also varnished Nispero. Furnishings included. 

Off-Grid System

This property is off-grid, powered with solar panels installed in 2016 and solar batteries that were purchased in 2020. A 24-volt DC system utilizes twelve Trojan 2-volt batteries connected in series and charged by fourteen roof-mounted solar panels, 350 watts each. A 2500-watt inverter converts the 24-volt DC power to 110-volt AC power, which powers all the lights, outlets, and ceiling fans. The cottage is connected to the same solar system. 

Rain catchment system is used for water supply with 2,500-gallon capacity with a triple filtration system. The cottage is connected to the same water supply. The two houses have their own septic systems and tanks.
